ABOUT Seth

I received my Masters In Social Work with a clinical track in the mid 90s. I have over 25 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families helping them with their best communication and uncovering insights to alleviate stress and confusion. My background is in mental health with a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT helps people to change their unwanted behaviors by changing their thought patterns.
I have always been passionate in my belief that people's negative thinking, and distorted impressions in their communication with others, and, most importantly with themselves, their own self talk, are the culprit to depression, anxiety and feeling stuck.

Coaching was a natural progression for me after twenty plus years as a psychotherapist. My best work and what I enjoyed the most, was working with clients that were motivated for change and were willing to put in the work towards reaching their goals.
In this fast paced, results driven and technology gifted time, we have access to so many resources to help motivate and support us in a shared and universal quest for living happier and successful lives. Helping my clients access these resources and create a plan to reach their vision of success is my passion.
On a more personal note. I grew up on Long Island and spent most of my life in Manhattan. I enjoy all the great things life in NYC offers and as well enjoying family and friends on Long Island. I moved to Southern California in 2016 to live life as much on the water as possible. I am an avid sailor and I get to do that all year round, not something that was possible on the East Coast. For me, being out in nature, with some form of activity and community, is what recharges my spirit and my body.
I've been committed to personal development since my twenties. Mindfulness and meditation are a big part of what makes me happy. The practice, my practice isn't perfect but it's always there when I need to access it.
Awakening to the awareness that we can manage our thoughts and become aware of our breath in the heat of life, and in more difficult times, is the gateway to the understanding that we are at the controls. The work to setting and achieving our goals begins at that moment that we become aware of our choices.
I feel that I was built to help others and I am grateful that I found work that is in alignment with who I am. I've known peaks and valleys that come with living a full life. I have helped many in troubled times and I've asked for help during difficult times. I understand what it's like to lose family and friends too young to illness and tragedy. I have a personal satisfaction in knowing that light comes after darkness and there is always a promise of change and a reason for hope. Sharing that belief with others, especially in their time of need, brings me great satisfaction.
